About the Topic

The First and Second 2004 Meetings of the Deepwater Infrastrucure Forum focused on developing an understanding of the Loop Current in the Gulf of Mexico, how it affects deepwater marine construction operations, and vessels available to perform specialized installation tasks. This meeting will focus on recent industry deepwater pipelay experience. Issues that affect efficient and successful execution of deepwater pipelay operations will be explored, with emphasis on interactive discussion.

About the Speakers

Gary Perkins is a Senior Staff Engineer with Shell International E&P. He provides pipeline metallurgy and welding support to Shell's deepwater pipeline construction projects and to other offshore and onshore pipeline projects as required. Gary is presently the Secretary of the API 1104 Pipeline Welding committee and voting member of the API 5L Line Pipe committee.

Stan Hogben is a Project Manager for Technip within the SURF division; he has been with the Technip group for 14 years. The projects Stan has been involved with in the GoM to date are Chevron Typhoon, BP Marlin, BP Thunderhorse and Shell Nakika. He is currently working in the tendering department.

Dick Wolbers is a Senior Project Engineer for Pipelay at Heerema, wher he's worked for 8 years. Prior to joining Heerema, Dick worked for Allseas for 7 years. A few of the projects Dick has worked on include the Mardi Gras Pipeline System and Mensa.
