About the Topic
The theme for the Deepwater Infrastructure Forum in 2006 is "Contracting Strategies for Deepwater Projects." This meeting will discuss different contract types, and a project scenario will be presented for which participants will fill out contract quilts showing their preferences for how to contract. Time will be reserved for participants to discuss the choices they made and why. For context, participants will assume the role of owner for this meeting. The role of contractor will be considered in a follow-on meeting.

About the Speakers
Alan Webb is Contracting & Procurement Lead in the US for Shell's E&P Projects organization. He has 19 years experience with Shell. His first 10 years were spent administering domestic and international contracts in which Shell had acquired oil and gas rights. He then moved to Supply Chain Management, dealing with a full range of procurement activities. Roles included Project Materials Controller for the Malampaya Project, Procurement Lead for Shell Midstream, and Team Lead - Procurement in Global Practices - E&P - Americas. Alan has led numerous contracting strategy and contract tactics workshops for very large and mega projects around the world.
